Hi I'm Sam

I'm a writer. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and write; I'm hoping that within the next few years I will be able to publish my own books! I enjoy hiking and running and playing games, particularly with my family. I love listening to music, and I enjoy playing it as well - the trumpet is my instrument of choice. I also enjoy getting to know people and their various backgrounds; it amazes me just how many people there are in this world, and I want to be able to connect with them and their life stories. I've had such an opportunity to meet people as I attended a year of college at Brigham Young University; I've been able to pursue courses there that inspire and challenge me. I'm currently serving an LDS mission to Singapore and Malaysia, and am excited to be able to serve and love the people there! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because: 1. I was raised in the LDS faith. I grew up in a predominantly Mormon community, and was influenced by it daily. 2. I have read the Book of Mormon and have participated in the various worship services of the Church and have come to know for myself that this work is true. There was a time in high school when I began to struggle with the Church's doctrines and teachings; I realized that I could no longer rely upon my parents' testimonies of this faith - I had to get one for myself. So, over the course of these several years, I have come closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I have come to the recognition that God does have a plan for me and for my family. I have struggled at times, but my faith in this Gospel and my belief that it is true and everlasting have always been an anchor for me. I testify that the Lord hears and answers our prayers, and that He can make more of our situations that we can. I testify that He loves us, and that He is always willing to comfort and guide us when we seek His direction. I testify that we can have eternal families - that death does not need to separate us from our loved ones personally. I know this Church is true! This is why I'm so anxious and excited to be able to share this message with those who I have the privilege of serving in the mission field! :)

How I live my faith

I attend worship services every week; in addition to that, I pray and read my scriptures daily. When we read and study our scriptures daily, and when we pray sincerely morning and night, we bring ourselves closer to our Heavenly Father, and invite His Spirit to be with us constantly. I am currently a full-time missionary--this means that for the next two years I am devoting all of my time, energy, and talents to help spread the message of the Gospel to the people of Singapore and Malaysia. I want to share with everyone how happy this message can make any and all, and how joyous the good news of the Gospel is! :)
