Hi I'm Carl

I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, I am 19 years old and was baptised in 2013 when I went to Utah.

About Me

I have lived in England all of my life, I was born in March and have just turned 19 years old, I have recently taken an interest in biking places, especially to church activities, I attended college for 2 years before finishing with fresh new skills in Creative Media, as the name suggests, it is just the creative side of media, such as video editing/shooting, video game design etc etc, up until that point I was not an LDS member, it was not until August 17th when I met someone from Utah (USA) who played a great role in converting me, 3 months after I had them, and had been going to church and even having the lessons from the missionaries, I flew out to finally meet them, and when I was there, I was baptised and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? now that is a big question, I could come up with quite a few reasons, however, I will always remember the moment I knew that I wanted to be baptised, I was laying in bed, on the phone with my friend, she is from Utah, USA and I, England, and all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, she wanted to share a chapter from the book of Mormon, she knew not why she wanted to share this specific chapter, but she just felt like she had to, so as she read from the Book of Alma, chapter 32, I listened closely, and as she read verse 16, I was overjoyed with what I heard, right then, as she spoke the last words, I knew that I was gong to be baptised, and ever since that day, I have been growing my faith, growing my testimony, taking every chance I can get to learn or to teach, why? so I can help fulfil our heavenly fathers plan, so I, as well as those around me, can stand beside him in the kingdom of Heaven. The verse that changed my life : Therefore, blessed are they who humble themselves without being compelled to be humble; or rather, in other words, blessed is he that believeth in the word of God, and is baptized without stubbornness of heart, yea, without being brought to know the word, or even compelled to know, before they will believe.

How I live my faith

Not only do I attend church on the Sabbath Day (Sundays), every Tuesday evening I attend something that is called 'Young Mens' where I am a first councilor, that is basically an 'Assistant' when it comes to teaching the youth, we start our evening off with a prayer before going ahead with what we had planned and at the end, close with another prayer, then every Wednesday evening I attend what we call 'YSA' or 'Young Single Adults' which is similar to young mens only for the older members, and it is very similar to what we do in young mens with the exception that we take turns to teach the lesson, then every Thursday, or every Thursday that I can make at least, I travel by car for about 2 hours to get to the temple in Preston where we attend Institute, I use this opportunity to get to know other people from the church, as people from all over this part of England travel to attend, we have our lessons, then we eat food, talk and just have a good time before going back home, and when I can, I take every chance I get to go out with the Missionaries and help them teach anyone who is interested.
