Hi I'm Scott

I live in Nevada. I play soccer and like to run. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child of four and we have the greatest parents ever. I enjoy being outdoors playing soccer or ultimate frisbee and I like to run. If I can't go outside I like to curl up and read a good book or play video games with my younger brothers. I can never decide what my favorite food is because I love just about everything, but I used to be a super picky eater. I LOVE to sing and play the violin, guitar, and piano. The school choir that I am in travels once a year for a big competition; I've been to Hawaii, San Francisco, San Diego, Disneyland...all sorts of fun places! I love to travel but don't get to do so very often. I am currently serving a mission in Villahermosa, Mexico and I love every moment that I get to work to serve other people.

Why I am a Mormon

At first, I was only a Mormon because my parents are. There came a point in time where I decided that I needed to find out for myself if this was the direction that I wanted my life to go. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself. The last prophet in the Book of Mormon, Moroni, promised everyone who reads it that if they ask God with a sincere heart, with real intent, and with faith in Christ, the Holy Ghost will tell us that it is true. I put Moroni's promise to the test. After I prayed and asked God if the Book of Mormon was true, I just felt peaceful and I knew that it was. Since then I have prayed to know the truth of many things in the church, and the answer has always been a calm, confident yes. I know that this church is the same as Christ's church when He was on the Earth. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ and that through him they restored the gospel. I know that there is a prophet of God on the Earth today who receives revelation for all the inhabitants of the Earth and that if I follow his counsel, no matter how hard that may seem, I will be blessed. I know that the Bible is true and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ that adds to what the Bible has to teach us. I know that we all mess up sometimes. It's impossible for us to go through life without making a mistake, but because of the Atonement of our Savior and Redeemer we can repent and He will forgive us. I know that he suffered in Gethsemane and on the cross. Three days after He gave up the ghost He became the first person ever to be resurrected, breaking the chains of death for all of us on this Earth. I love Him for His sacrifice. There is no way that I can ever repay Him for all that He has done for me and I will be eternally grateful for His love for me.

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary. Mr responsibilities include welcoming new members to the ward and teaching them new member discussions. I am doing this in preparation to serve as a full-time missionary in Villahermosa Mexico. I am also a part of a group of guys from my ward who gets together and sings because we all love singing. We prepare hymns and sacred songs to sing in our ward and others in the area. Whatever I am doing, wherever I am, and whoever I am with, I always try to follow my morals and standards and to be an example to people around me.
