Hi I'm Kierstin

I'm an Idahoan. I am a college student that has plans to change the world. And I'M A MORMON!

About Me

I grew up among the Rocky Mountains and sagebrush-covered deserts of Idaho. I loved every minute of it, but after high school I moved to Utah and am pursuing a degree in Family Life at BYU. I graduated high school as an honors student, and was thrilled to be able to continue my education. I loved the college life, but recently took a 2 year break from school so that I could serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas Fort Worth Mission. I love this church and want to help move it forward. I have a spectacular family consisting of two amazing parents, a wonderful younger sister, and three fantastic younger brothers. I also have a myriad of loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I love to spend time with my family and friends, and I'm always ready to have fun! I love to be creative, and I prove that through my passion for music and writing. I've played the piano since I was 7 years old, and I still love to tickle the ivories every chance I get. I also love to be outdoors, specifically when I'm camping or hiking. I love to smile and laugh. I simply love to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church, but as I've grown, I've come to discover personal reasons why I've chosen to adopt the standards of being a Mormon. There have been so many times when I've asked myself this very question. Why am I a Mormon? I've had many inner struggles with myself, simply trying to discover if being a Mormon is my personal decision or if I simply am a member because it's what I've always known. It's what I'm familiar with. I've come to discover that I have chosen this lifestyle and striven to live the standards because it's what makes me happy. It has nothing to do with what I'm told to do or what is expected of me. I do not follow the Church's teachings due to blind obedience. I am a Mormon because I CHOOSE to be, and it is what brings the most joy in my life. The gospel and my family are the two things I treasure the most, and the gospel teachings encourage me to love my family even more. I am a Mormon because there is no better feeling than realizing that you're a son or daughter of God. I love the standards and the teachings, including the knowledge that families can be together forever. I've reflected on my life and realized that the most amazing blessings that happened to me were in someway connected to my membership in the Mormon church. I love to be happy, and I am a Mormon because I know that it will bring me eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith wherever or whatever I'm doing. In fact, my entire life is patterned around the teachings of the gospel. My goal, just like so many others, is to become more Christlike, and I focus each and every day to follow His example. It's all the little things that count toward this. I try to be kind and loving to those around me. I attend my church meetings weekly and accept the assignments my leaders give me. I want to be the kind of person whose religion always outwardly shows. Being Mormon is not a characteristic I hide but something I constantly acknowledge with great passion!
