Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a daughter, sister, wife and mother. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom with 4 children, 1 boy and 3 girls. I spend most of my time taking care of my children and my husband. I love photography and organizing and decorating my home. I also enjoy excersizing mostly running and swimming. When I have a little extra time I love reading a good book. After a 10 year break I'm getting ready to start and finish my bachelors degree. With a husband and 2 kids in school I felt left out and want to finish what I started a long time ago.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. My parents grew up Mormons and their parents were Mormons, etc. When I was a teenager I was a little rebellious and had to find out for myself that the church was true. I went away to college and met lots of young adults like myself with strong testimonies and I wanted to be like them. While I was out on my own I had to decide to keep the commandments and continue to go to church. Since choosing to stay active I have seen so many blessings in my life. I am blessed with an amazing family and beautiful children. My home is feeled with love and joy and I know it is because of the gospel. My life is not free from trials and worries. Just recently my brother passed away. He was only 34 and he had brain cancer. He was an amazing example to me and a great missionary. He was never afraid to share his testimony or to help someone in need. He was everyone's friend. As he was in the hospital and his body was getting weaker I felt the prayers of comfort from hundreds of friends and family. I prayed myself that God would help me to know that families are forever and I will see my brother again. I felt peace and comfort like I have never felt before. I know that God lives and that he knows each of us. He knows our fears and He knows when we are hurting and He sends his love to comfort us. I know that I will get to see my brother again and talk to him and walk with him. I am so grateful to a loving father in heaven that has given us this knowledge. I'm still sad sometimes, but as I read the scriptures and pray I am feeled with peace again. I know there is life after our time on earth and we can be together forever.

How I live my faith

Everyday I get to teach my children about the gospel. We read scriptures every night and say family prayer together before going to bed. Twice a month girls ages 8-11 from my ward come to my house and we do an hour long activity together. Our favorite things to do our crafts and cook. At our last activity we made rolls with a marshmellow in the center. When we cooked them the marshmellow melted and when we ate the rolls the center was hollow. We called them resurrection rolls and talked about how Christ was resurrected and his tomb was empty on the 3rd day. I also teach lessons once a month at church to the women. We get to discuss the gospel and share personal experiences. As a group we women try to uplift and strengthen one another. We give ideas to each other about how to be better mothers and do more meaningful service and how to become more like Christ. Teaching these lessons helps me to better understand how I can become more like Jesus.
