Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a rugby player. I'm a big brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6 kids, with 3 little sisters and 2 younger brothers. I grew up in British Columbia, Canada, after my parents moved there from Hawaii, where I was born. I'm serving my mission in Manchester, England. My goal is to become a history teacher after I return home. I spend a lot of my time playing rugby and basketball, reading, and hanging out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the joy, peace, and happiness it brings to my family and me. Being a Mormon allows me to really find real happiness through the knowledge that families can be together forever. This knowledge allows me to make it through the assortment of trials I've faced in my life. Being a Mormon doesn't mean life is easy, but it makes life easier. Friends and sports bring a lot of fun into my life, but sustained happiness has come from living the gospel with my family. I've seen the blessings of a loving Heavenly Father everyday of my life, even the worst days. Knowing where I came from and where I'm going gives my life so much more purpose and meaning. I love my family, and I love the truth that I've learned from them, especially regarding this wonderful Gospel. I'm a Mormon because I want to say, "I'm Happy". I'm a Mormon because I want to be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by deciding to serve a mission for 2 years. I live my faith by helping organize youth activities, and helping to counsel with other members of the church. I've had the chance to serve in leadership roles, and been able to help guide the education and missionary effort for some of the men in my home area. I've also been able to visit members in their homes with my dad, and been able to give service through that opportunity.
