Hi I'm MaRee Rosen

I'm a proud grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I retired three years ago and am loving it!! I joined a gym and enjoy working out (well, most of the time). I enjoy reading, especially mysteries. I love camping and being near water, although I'm not a swimmer, more of a puppy-dog paddler. I enjoy having sleepovers with my grandkids. I love being with my husband!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but fell away when I was around 16. After the birth of my second child I came back into the church and have been attending regularly ever since. My life while I was inactive was very chaotic. Something was missing from my life but I couldn't figure out what it was. I would hate to think what my life would be like today if I had not returned. I love the gospel. It teachings are true. I know that President Monson is a prophet of God. I know that Jesus lives and loves me. I know that if I continue to try and live the teaching of Jesus I will someday see my Savior again.

How I live my faith

My husband and I will be leaving for 6-month mission to Cove Fort, Utah in five days. I'm excited and a bit scared. I've serviced in many of the organizations in the church. I was the leader of the women's organization for three years. It was a growing and learning time for me. We had 22 elderly members of the church pass away at that time and I planned luncheons for after their services for up to 200 people. That was a new experience for me. My favorite calling in the church is teaching children. How I love all the sweet children!

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

MaRee Rosen
The Church does not endorse political candidates nor does it permit it's buildings to be used for political purposes. However, if there is a moral issue the Church will speak out. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

MaRee Rosen
Members of the Church do not shop or pursue recreational activities on Sundays. Sunday is a day spent attending church meeting, resting and enjoy families, visit the sick or elderly, read the scriptures, and performing charitable works. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

MaRee Rosen
To help us know his will, God has given us prophets and apostles to act as his spokesmen. A prophet is a faithful and righteous man chosen by God to speak for him here on Earth. We believe that God has chosen Thomas S. Monson to speak for God and lead his Church today. Listening and following the prophet helps us grow closer to our Heavenly Father so that we can someday live with him again. Show more Show less
