Hi I'm Lisa

I live grew up in Washington, but now live in San Jose. I am a stay at home mom with three busy kids. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of three busy kids. I like to read, take photographs, and enjoy puzzles. I was a junior high school math teacher before I was a mom. I now volunteer at my kids school in their classes and on the PTA.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who loves me and cares about what I do. I know that His son, Jesus Christ, came to this earth to teach us how to live by His example. Some of these teachings are found in the Bible. I know that Christ came to this earth to suffer for our sins and our mistakes. But He also came to feel all of what we feel and know everything that we think. He never wanted us to feel alone. Because He suffered for us and paid the price of our sins with His life on the cross, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and Christ again. When Christ was on the earth He appointed teachers, or apostles to continue to teach after his death. When all of those apostles died, there were no others with authority to teach in Christ's name. Joseph Smith was a humble boy who wanted to know the truth and asked God in faith. He was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ in person and eventually translated the Book of Mormon, which also testifies of Christ and his teachings. Joseph Smith was instrumental in bringing God's authority back to this earth. Because of this we now have living prophets again on the earth and we have God's words available to us through them. I am a Mormon because I have prayed to my Father in Heaven and asked Him to know for myself if this is His church on this earth. I received a confirmation for myself that it is and because of that I live the way that I live and I teach my children about His teachings in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and from the words of our living prophets on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my kids about my values and hope to ensile these same values in them. I serve as the secretary in the women's organization in my church. I have also served in the children's program at church. I try to keep in contact with other women and families at church and try to serve them in any way that I can. At school I serve on the PTA and volunteer in my children's classes twice a week. I try to be a good example of a Christian to those around me in all that I do and say.
