Hi I'm Macey

I'm a painter and a window washer. I love to bake. I want to be a mom and homemaker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and am currently preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Toronto Mission. I am from Raymond, Alberta and grew up playing sports. I come from a family of 8, I enjoy camping, hiking, warm weather, spending time with family, especially my three nephews, baking, eating, doing crafts, shopping, serving anonymously, attending the temple and studying the gospel. I grew up in the church but it wasn't until high school, that I had real trials which forced me to developed my own testimony of the gospel. I have come to realize that as I rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all of my sins, burdens, sorrows, worries and fears can be healed and made right and that I can become a better person everyday. Christ is constant and will never leave us. I know I can always turn to Him for strength and He will be there for me so long as I exercise faith in His power to lift my burdens.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Joseph Smith restored the Saviors true church back onto the earth after a long apostasy. I know that the Priesthood, or the power of God given to make to act in His name, has been restored and that because this correct authority has been restored, ordinances in the temple of can be performed and those promises we make and that God makes to us are bound not only on the earth but in heaven as well. I am a Mormon because I know that living the way Christ taught brings me true happiness. Selfless service, humility, gratitude, kindness, honesty, integrity, good health practices, living a virtuous life and being morally upright and clean are keys to a long, happy life and all these concepts are found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we strive to follow His example, we will be successful in whatever we do and wherever we go because He will be with us to guide and strengthen us in our every decision.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following Jesus Christ and by trying to be a little bit better each day. I serve in my Young Single Adult (YSA) Ward by helping and encouraging my fellow sisters to live to gospel in a way that their hearts can turn to God, rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and truly become converted as they apply the Saviors teachings in the scriptures to their life. Freedom, happiness and true peace come from knowing that you are clean before God and it is only by asking Christ to lift those burdens from our shoulders and heal us that we can experience the joy our Heavenly Father desires us to feel. I seek to share the gospel with whoever I can because of the unconditional love that I have felt from Christ as I have applied the Atonement in my life. It motivates me and gives me the desire to share that knowledge and understanding with everyone so that they can feel of their own great worth to God. I experience the most joy when I am able to help someone feel how much they are loved by their Heavenly Father.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We believe that before we came to earth, we took part in a Grand Counsel with our Heavenly Father and all His spirit children to determine how we would progress further in order to become more like our Heavenly Father and enjoy the peace and happiness He does. Satan wanted us to all return safely back to Heavenly Father but he wanted all the glory. Jesus Christ, on the other hand, offered to take our sins upon Himself so that we would have the choice and opportunity to return if thats what we truly wanted. We fought for agency (our ability to make our own decisions) so that we could prove to Heavenly Father that we truly did love Him enough to pass through this mortal journey and remain faithful to Him. Because our agency is so important to us, the Lord has set for guidelines of health that will help us retain our ability to make wise decisions. Tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, and illegal drugs are all addictive and harmful substances that take us out of our proper state of mind and hinder our ability to make good choices. By following this code of health, we free ourselves of the heartache, suffering, frustration and defeat we feel when we are bound by these addictions. Show more Show less
