Hi I'm Abby

I am serving a mission in Vancouver, Canada. I love singing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I love to sing and play the guitar. I also love to write. I aspire to be a journalist and song-writer to share my insights with the world. I also love running and enjoying the outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that following our Savior's example and accepting His infinite Atonement is the only way to gain salvation and return to live in our Father's presence. I love my Heavenly Father and I am forever indebted to Him because of this incredible life He has given to me and His endless offers of mercy. I know the only way I can truly repay Him is to live righteously and serve others, teaching them to live righteously as well. I have been born into the church and I have been taught to follow Christ as long as I can remember. But it has taken true trials and my own mistakes to know the capacity of Christ's Atoning sacrifice for us. I know that this lasting act has the power to take away my sins and pay for my sorrows and restore peace and hope. Sometimes I ask why God is so loving and why He has chosen to allow me a place in His kingdom when I am so insignificant, forgetful, and hard-hearted. I am humbled to know that He truly loves me with a depth that I, as a mortal being, cannot fully understand. But He has given us temples, priesthood powers, and prayer to become closer to Him and more fully understand His eternal plan for us. I know that the love God has for me is offered to all of His children on this earth and all may gain the understanding I have gained through faith and obedience.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a full-time mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have left my family and friends back home to teach the gospel to poeple in a different country for 18 months! I love it! Before I left on my mission, I served in my ward as the choir director. I loved choosing the music for our worship services and getting members of our church together to practice and sing praises to God. I also served as a visiting teacher where I had a chance to join with another sister in my ward and visit other sisters in our ward. I had many opportunities to serve them, teach them, and gain friendships with them.
