Hi I'm Joshua Smith

I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and I'm now serving a full time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was baptized when I was 20, and now I am serving a mission in Idaho at age 24. I was raised Jehovah's Witness and I know that I am a good person because of that background and upbringing, but that faith was not able to answer all the questions that I had. I feel closer to God now that I have learned more fully of his nature and brought my life in line with the teachings of the Prophets.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that living up to the standards put forth by the church is by far the best thing that has ever happened in my life. I know that I am living the true Gospel because when I pray I get a response, not always a smack in the face or a grand epiphany but real direction given by the Holy Ghost. I had not ever thought of prayer as a two way communication before joining the church. It is. Moroni 10:3-5

How I live my faith

I have decided to devote 2 years of my life helping others by serving a full time mission for the church. Before my mission my calling was to be the executive secretary to the Bishop in the single's ward where I lived. I do my best to live my life in a way to be an example to those around me and who I might have a positive effect on.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Joshua Smith
Yes you can attend a LDS service. Come with and open mind and 3 hours to spare. Don't worry about what to wear as long as it is respectful to you and those around you, church is not a time to make a fashion statement. As long as you are there to truly gain a relationship with God you are fully welcome. Show more Show less
