Hi I'm Jennifer Ross

I was born in Ogden, Utah and raised in southern California, I have 2 kids and been married for 15 yrs. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy taking TaeKwonDo with my family, being a basketball for the YW in my ward and hanging out with my husband and close friends. I am a newbie Mormon :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a non-religious home, which by non-religious I mean we didn't go to church, or pray before we ate, or prayed at bedtime, or had specific family time. We did things on Sundays and so forth. I was always curious about church and God and so I decided in 6th grade to attend church with a friend. Since then I have been to different churches here and there and always felt a close bond with my heavenly father, but never felt that I belonged anywhere, so I chose to lead a very rough life, which at the time was not aware that it was going to be life it was. 15 years ago I married an inactive Mormon and started learning here and there about the gospel from his family members. I was a smoker, I drank, etc. I was terrified of death and the unknown of what comes after this life. I had no idea what I was doing in my own life and was deeply lost. I had 2 missionaries show up at my front door at the exact time I needed it and finally let them speak to me about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It wasn't until one of them said "Don't take our word for it, find out for yourself" that I started taking the missionary discussions with my family, and started praying about it and reading scriptures that I had no idea what they meant at the time. It was scary venturing into unknown territory, but on Dec 8th, 2012 my son and I were baptized by my husband who became active again and was ordained in time to perform our baptisms. It was the best decision I have ever made, not only for myself, but my family has changed so much for the better. I have learned that I am a daughter of God and the choices I make in this life determine my next eternal life. I have learned that my family can be together forever and this mortal life is not the end, but merely the beginning of something far greater and if I do my best to follow Christ all his promises will be fulfilled to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the best way that I can. I strive everyday to better what who I was the previous day in order to be able to return to my father in heaven. I currently am the Young Women's basketball coach in my ward and it has taught me so much about faith and love. These girls put their faith in me and love me regardless of the mistakes I make.
