Hi I'm John

I was born in Dorset, moved to Hertfordshire in the 50's. Became a Mormon in 2001!

About Me

I used to have Private Pilots Licence, but had to give it up because of time, money and work commitments. I enjoyed the freedom, that flying offered, to be able to get away from the everyday pressures of work life etc.. I now enjoy working with computers, as a hobby. I'm not interested in computer games etc., but in the everyday use, especially for research. I occasionally repair computers, when I have the time! I lived in France for a while, but because of the exchange rate fluctuations, it was necessary to return to the UK. I was unable to get work, in France, as my French was not up the standard required! I travel back to France as often as I can, because I enjoy the people and their way of life.

Why I am a Mormon

For many, many years I always had this feeling that there was more to our existence. Being born, living for three score and ten years, then dying! It was only when I started to attend meetings with my (now ex) wife, that I realised that my feelings were indeed correct. The Church's teachings about being able to return to Our Father in Heaven. Being reunited with those of our ancestors, who have gone on before us, made me realise that what I had always felt was true and this was in fact the true church!

How I live my faith

I'm quite heavily involved in the administration of our Ward (as our individual chapels/meeting houses are called). This involves membership records, finances etc., as well as various committees! Also I'm responsible for the technology in our Stake (The Stake consists of several Wards). This means keeping the administration computers up and running, satellite system working. Also our Family History Center computers and any other 'tech' items functioning.
