Hi I'm Daniel

I grew up in Chile. I am Flight Attendant. I am a son, a brother, and an uncle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

To be honest, there is nothing really special about me. Except that I live like a gypsy….with being a flight attendant, you don’t really realize how much you on the road (Air). I like to say, I am everywhere, but I am not anywhere. Nonetheless, when I am in the ground on my days off, I always go back to Salt Lake City, Utah, where my family lives. One of my most favorite things to do on my past time is actually to spend any quality time with my family. I love when summer comes around, not so much because it’s hot again. Being a flight attendant I can be and see all seasons in one day. However, why I love summers is because that is when my family and I do a lot of things together. Like, few years back we did Kayaking, the next following one we did Rock climbing. This year we intent to bike all the way from Salt Lake City to St George, Utah, for fun! We sound like we are really sporty people, but we thank our younger brother for these activities. As he is the one who gets into it first. However, the bike Idea, that is totally mine. All these activities sound like a ton of fun, and they are, But one thing that I just enjoy as much is to walk with my family in the park on summers late afternoon.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon, why wouldn't I be? Yes, I was born and raised in the church, but that does not mean anything. I still had to find my own ways to find out if the book of Mormon was true, and if it was true, than church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days brings into my life pure happiness not just on a daily basis, but on spiritual bases. Knowing that our Savior Jesus Christ died for you, for me, for us, it makes a huge difference. However, that still is not sufficient, knowing that Christ lives, and that through him I am able to come back to my Heavenly father, now that is the greatest gift that I could receive while being here on earth. I am a Mormon because I chose to follow my father’s plan of salvation.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is quite simple. I go to church every time I can; I always do my prayers, read my scriptures in the mornings and at night before I go to bed. When I can in my layovers and on my days off, I go to the temple if there is an LDS temple in the area where I am at. The environments that I am exposed, and the environment that the church provides is really 180 degree turn, nonetheless, I always remember who I am. I am a child of god, and that alone keeps me on my feet together and gives me hope that everything is alright at the end. I am never ashamed of saying that I am an LDS. Passengers and people in general always assume Salt Lake City equals Mormonism, and when I get asked the question if I am a Mormon?, I say proudly “you bet ya ”. This gives me the opportunity to always to talk about the gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life happiness, so why would I be ashamed of hiding the secret as to why I am a happy person.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Daniel
The problem of pornography it’s so strong it is not just in magazines or online but also everywhere you look. To the world, looking at pornography is considered cool, but it’s not, it’s a problem not only spiritually but physically. It affects you, and not just you, but everyone around you. Remember your choices don't and never affect you, but it affects everyone around you. We can stop this problem only by acting against it. Don't do what everyone does. Do what our heavenly father wants us to do. It’s not easy, but it can be done by the healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ our savior and Redeemer. If you have problems with pornography, first admit you have a problem and an addiction. Second, do a prayer to receive strength to talk to your local leaders. You need this because Satan will try to convince you that by doing this you will lose everything. Third talk to your local leader and openly admit your problem. By talking truthfully to your leaders you will feel a sense of relief spiritually and physically. Fourth follow every council that your leader has for you if it’s done by the guidance of the spirit. Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Daniel
In Corinthians 6:19 it says: Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God”. To have a body in this life is a gift from our Heavenly Father, if we don’t respect our bodies we are neither respecting our Heavenly father. Without our bodies we would not be able to live. Without our bodies we would not able to experience the challenges and the blessings we gain in this life. Without our bodies we wouldn't be who we are. We must take care of our bodies so that we can be happy in this life. In Thessalonians 4:4 it says “Every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;” Our body is the vessel that we should strive to keep sanctified and honored so, that the spirit of God could always be with us. The temple is the house of the lord; and consequently our bodies are a temple in the eyes of the lord. Show more Show less
