Hi I'm Gui

I grew up in Utah/Brazil. I love to snowboard, and to surf. I'm am currently serving as a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Guilherme Vecchi, I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to serve in the England, London Mission. Before my mission I had moved a lot between Utah, USA and Sao Paulo, Brazil, because of my dad’s job. I’m not sure where I liked living more, but home has always been where the family is, and right now that is Brazil. I loved the opportunity I had to learn about different cultures and to eat (one of my favorite things to do) so many different foods. My family has always been really close, and I have the gospel of Jesus Christ to thank for that. My brothers and I have always loved, extreme sports. We loved the Utah mountains, and would spend hours dirt biking and snowboarding. When I was living in Brazil, my brothers and I surfed and scuba-dived in their beautiful beaches. My favorite memories are those that I have been able to share with my family, going out together or just sitting at home chatting. I come from a family of 6 (counting my parents and me); with an older brother, younger brother and a younger sister. I love my family and the support my parents have always given me. Serving a mission has been the greatest decision I have ever made, I had never realized how great a blessing this gospel has been to my family, until now. I love to see how through God, families become more united and happy and how much individuals can change and improve.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. To be honest I've always known it to be true, it makes way too much since, and it has always felt right. It wasn't until I started to serve a mission that I really realized just how much the Gospel of Jesus Christ can influence people. I know nothing more powerful, than the truth, that we are God's children and that he has a plan for us. That knowledge changes attitudes, gives people hope and a purpose, it motivates, and direct. The Gospel changes lives! The reason why I am a Mormon is because I was lucky enough to have had parents that were members. The reason why I will always be a Mormon is because, it is true! As a missionary I have the privilege of teaching truth, it is amazing to know God, and unchangeable being that wants to help us. The Gospel isn't like the rest of the world where things that use to be true, are different now. What God has taught from the foundation of the world is still true, and will always be true.

How I live my faith

The way that I have always tried to live my faith, is by showing kindness to others, I have always tried to treat others with respect and love, just as Christ has always done. I am currently serving as a missionary in the England, London Mission, for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so privileged to have these 2 years to serve the lord. I love to see the difference that the gospel of Jesus Christ makes in people's lives, and I am so happy to be a instrument in the Lords hand to bring this happiness into others lives, a happiness that I know to be everlasting, and one that cant be found anywhere else.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith, we are just very grateful for the things he did. Joseph Smith played a huge role in restoring the Church of Jesus Christ back on earth and it is hard to talk about how this gospel came to be and how it can help others without mentioning Joseph Smith, and the simple leap of faith that he made. He prayed to know which church is true, a leap that we invite all men and women everywhere to make. So we don't worship Joseph Smith but he made it possible for us to worship the Father and the Son in the correct way. Show more Show less
