Hi I'm Matt

I was born and raised in Washington State. I'm studying Human Resources at a university. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single adult living at home and attending school for a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources. I work part-time as a substitute teacher for a local school district and a couple charter schools. My previous major was education but I felt a business degree would better fit my skill set. I am not too adventurous but am rather content here in Utah as there is much to see and do. I spend time with my family and close friends. More than anything I want to start a family and fulfill my true calling in life as a husband and father. I am very active in my church duties and in school functions as I strive to progress in life and as a man of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I take a lot of pride in the family legacy my mother has provided us. Born and raised in France, her mother and family were converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When their mother died, her and her sister immigrated to California were she met my father. They raised my sister and I very well in the Gospel. I am thankful to have been born into a righteous home where I learned to feel the spirit, and love others through the perspective that we are all sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. I have felt His influence in my life and testify he is real and we can return to live with Him through our savior Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus is our Savior, Lord and Redeemer, meaning he sacrificed himself to provide us a way to live forever with our eternal families. I love my Savior and the plan Heavenly Father has for us to come to earth, and to prove ourselves worthy to enter His kingdom. I am grateful for prophets that lead and guide us through scriptures, and we have prophets today. Our living prophet is Thomas S. Monson and I know through his words and deeds that God speaks through him on our behalf. I am grateful for his predecessor Joseph Smith who, with the help of our Savior, restored the fullness of His gospel to the Earth along with the Priesthood, which is the power of God given to men to act in His name. I love these wonderful people, whom I have never met in person, but certainly know have influenced my life and all of mankind. I know that through prayer we can know that these things are true. Heavenly Father seeks to bless us with this knowledge and we can all receive it by praying with sincere faith. I invite you to read the Book of Mormon, which I testify is the word of God given to ancient American prophets, just like the Bible was given to others. Read it and pray to know for yourself that God is real, He knows you and loves you, and we can live with Him forever. I bare witness of these things in the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My duties at church are simple but important. I schedule appointments for members to meet with their bishop for various reasons. My 'calling' requires me to attend early morning meetings in order to stay informed about how best we can serve the members of our 'ward'. Other duties are preparing meeting agendas and taking notes to ensure that we use our time wisely and keep a record of our ward's progress. I love being able to serve along side such inspiring brothers and sister who know how to love, serve well, and meet the needs of others.
