Hi I'm Alek

I love the Oregon Ducks, I love the Gospel, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I LOVE sports. Coming from Oregon, my whole family's huge Duck fans. In highschool, I played football for 3 out of the 4 years. In my senior year, I switched positions from wide receiver to quarterback. During our sixth game, I got tackled and ended up breakin my collar bone pretty badly, which ended my season. Later on in my senior year, I decided to graduate early in January, so I could go to college, (most likely BYU), but when the mission age changed in our church from 19 to 18, I decided to put my papers in to serve a mission. I just received my call about 3 weeks ago to the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission, and I report to the MTC just two weeks from today, on April 10th. I am super excited! I have never had a problem sharing the gospel with others, as my nickname on the team was "Mormon." I am going to miss my family and friends greatly, but I know what I'm doing is totally worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the great joy and all of the blessings it brings into my life. Knowing that my family and I can live together forever provides great joy. I love living clean in the word of wisdom and the law of chastity, as it draws me closer to our heavenly father. I'm so greatful for the scriptures and all of the great teachings it brings. I'm greatful for the oppurtunity to serve a mission, and being able to follow the footsteps of many great prophets. I love this church, and I'm so excited to keep learning new things and grow my testimony, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am/was the 1st assistant to the bishop, and I was in charge of making sure people who couldn't make it to the church could receive the sacrament, mainly the elderly of the church. This provided all of the other boys my age with great service oppurtunities. Also, I was in charge of making the boys were regularly doing there home teaching, as it provided more service oppurtunities.

What is faith?

Alek
Faith, in my opinion, is the combination of believing in something and acting on it. Faith in the church is one of the most crucial things. Without faith, you can not grow closer to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
