Hi I'm Whitney McLelland

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently returned home from the California Sacramento Mission. Best mission in the world! I loved every second of it, and am loving the process of applying everything I learned to normal life. I love to learn. I received my associate's degree in general studies from Utah State University and will be studying to be an Occupational Therapist for the next couple of years. I love to sing, write, play ukulele, and be with my family. I love being outside. I love Utah because I LOVE the mountains. I love old people. I love games. I love food. I love Star Wars, but even more than that, I love this gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and want to do the best I can to become like Him someday. I love living with the knowledge that I can be forgiven of my sins, through the grace of God, if I will only keep the commandments and strive to better myself everyday. I love knowing that we have a living prophet who receives revelation for our day. God is still guiding us through His servants. It just makes sense. Prophets were called thousands of years ago, we need them just as badly today. God is consistent. I love having the knowledge that I can be with my family for eternity, as well as my Savior and my Father in Heaven. They mean the world to me, and I am so grateful that we can be together again after death. There are so many blessings that come from living the teachings of Christ! This gospel is the way to happiness. The Book of Mormon teaches us how to achieve that eternal happiness. How could I not want that?

How I live my faith

I live my faith through scripture study and prayer. I strive to do the things Jesus Christ would do. I am currently serving a full-time mission for the church. As a missionary, I invite others to come unto Christ. I get to dedicate all that I have and am to my Savior for 18 months of my life, and in the process see others come to know the love Christ has for them.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Whitney McLelland
It is only by grace that we are saved, but we have to earn that! We firmly believe in grace paired with good works. As we try to grow closer to Jesus Christ and live His teachings, we qualify ourselves for the grace His atoning sacrifice offers. Show more Show less
