Hi I'm Felicia

I grew up all over the United States. I graduated the only member of my church from a high school of 1400. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad's job in hotel management took me all over the United states as a child, but if people ask me where I grew up I always say Alaska because we stayed there the longest. My family has been in Pennsylvania for the past 6 years and I have spent some of that time away at school. I am the oldest of 5 children and I love my siblings with all my heart, they are a source of constant entertainment. My 18 year old brother is a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps and was recently married in a beautiful ceremony in our home. I am very proud of all my siblings accomplishments and look forward to seeing them grow. I am a sophomore at Brigham Young University- Idaho majoring in elementary education. I absolutely love my major and know that it is the correct path for me. I am currently preparing to serve for the Church. I will be serving in the Santa Cruz, Bolivia mission for a period of 18 months beginning the end of April 2013. I am extremely excited to serve and to bring the Lord's children unto him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because what the Church teaches has helped to know who I am. I am very young and I know exactly who I am, who I want to become, and how to get there because of what I have been taught and come to believe. Not many individuals my age can say this and I have known this since I was 16 years old. There is no single moment when I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. My testimony of this church grew gradually as I learned, prayed, and studied. It has never wavered, I know this gospel is the truth with all my heart. I am a Mormon because everything I do and learn through the Church has only ever brought me happiness, peace, and strength. I have felt Heavenly Father's and Jesus Christ's love fill me completely and poor out of me to those I love. I have felt my brother, Jesus Christs', hands on mine when I was in need of comfort. Every day when my dad says he is proud of me, when my mom says she loves me and calls me beautiful, I know it is because Heavenly Father has given me these parents. Why would I choose not to follow something that brings me so much eternal and everlasting joy?

How I live my faith

I have always found that the more I immerse myself in the activities and services the Church provides, the stronger I feel. Since I was a youth in the Church I have had the chance to provide several services and work with many groups of people. I feel though that all the chance I have had to serve in various groups has blessed me so much more than those around me. Since I was 12 years old I have held a position in the presidencies in the Young Women's program, a program for girls 12-18. This was a great chance for me learn organizational skills and act as an example to my peers. When I graduated high school and went off to college I had the chance to serve in different capacities. I worked in the presidency for the female students and I have been a teacher. The Lord knows what is needed in the life of His children and these callings have come when I needed them most. Each way I have been asked to serve has pushed me a little outside of my comfort zone, but the Lord knew what I was equipped to handle and I have always come out a stronger person with increased faith. You have to put your trust and faith in the Lord. I am currently back in my home ward before I leave and I am serving in a program for the girls ages 8-11 known as Activity Days. I teach lessons on gospel principles in a way that is easy to understand and let each of these girls know that they are a beautiful daughters of God. I look forward to my chances to continue to show my faith in the future by fulfilling the callings that come to me.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Felicia
My family and friends, everyday of my life, remind me God's existence. I know that I have met the people I have met and grown the relationships that I have with my family because of God. God is my Heavenly Father and He has given me my earthly parents to strengthen and uplift me. He has placed my friends in my path so that I could meet them and develop relationships with them; relationships that are uplifting and strengthening. These people have not come into my life by circumstance, God put them there for me because He knows exactly what I need. I see God everyday in the eyes of those who love me. Show more Show less
