Hi I'm Mallory

I am a BYU student. I volunteered at a school for the Deaf in Fiji. I love my husband! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in Boise, Idaho, my childhood was everything you would imagine with a household of four girls. Life was full of dress-up, princesses, playing in the sandbox, and many smiles and laughter. My dad was never disappointed in the lack of male representation; all his girls knew how to water-ski and that was all that mattered! I love running, dancing, smiling, laughing, signing (no, that is not misspelled...signing, not singing.), teaching, and dreaming. I have had many dreams that I have worked hard to fulfill... I dreamt of attending Brigham Young University; I am now almost graduating with my degree in Elementary Education. After my first year at BYU, I thought my life couldn't get any better. I was wrong. Each year at BYU has been the best year of my life! I dreamt of sleeping in a hut and living with almost nothing while serving people in another country. A year ago, I traveled 6,000 miles to the beautiful island of Fiji, slept in a tiny apartment, took cold showers everyday, had my wallet and camera stolen, and loved (almost) every second of it. I was assisting a doctor with free screenings in villages, creating nutrition classes, and helping at a school for the deaf. I wouldn't have rather been anywhere else! I dreamt of meeting Prince Charming. In 2012, I married the happiest, cutest, fun-nest, friendliest, most loving boy on earth. He is my best friend and makes me happier than happy! Now, I dream of helping others dream and achieve...I dream of being a teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love to be happy! Nothing brings me more happiness than the sweet assurance of knowing that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and listens to my prayers and a Savior who died that I might live. Nothing brings me more happiness than knowing I can live with my wonderful husband and family for ETERNITY. Nothing brings me more happiness than serving God's children, my brothers and sisters. Nothing brings me more happiness than feeling the peace and guidance of the Holy Ghost as I pray and read my scriptures. I love being happy, and I love sharing this joy with those around me!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Christ's ministry was dedicated to teaching and serving; I live my faith by trying to be like Christ and loving and serving those around me. My husband and I also serve in our ward by planning activities! We live in a married student ward that has lots of younger couples living in the same apartment complex. When we plan activities, we try to focus on things that creates a sense of unity in our ward and provides belonging for all of us newlyweds adjusting to the wonderful married life. The activities bring us all closer together and give our lives more meaning as we are able to connect and bond with those around us.

Are Mormons Christians?

OF COURSE! We believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe in His birth, His sacrifice and Atonement, His death, His resurrection, and that HE LIVES. We believe He is the head of our Church. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, His divinity, and His ministry. Show more Show less
