Hi I'm Leighann

I grew up in a small town in Maine and I'm a musician. I love bird watching and rock climbing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student at Brigham Young University- Idaho! I'm currently serving a mission in Brazil and am so excited to be learning the beautiful language of Portuguese! I'm studying music education, and I love to sing! I also love bird watching. I go out and listen and look for interesting birds! I love being outside... rock climbing, hiking, camping, and geocaching! I love living in Brazil, serving a mission, and helping others come unto Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Christ. He has given me everything in life, and I know that living in accordance with His gospel is the best and surest way to happiness. As I look and appreciate the beauty of this earth, I can't help but think, "there is no way this was on accident." There really is a God, and He loves me, and knows me personally. I love Him, and want to live His gospel, because it brings me the greatest peace and joy.

How I live my faith

When at school in Idaho, I am the choir director for my ward! I love the hymns of the church. They are so powerful and are one of the best ways to invite the Spirit into a church meeting! At home, I work with the youth in my ward. I teach Sunday School lessons and help the young girls in my ward prepare for high school. Plus, I get to go to fun activities with them! It makes me feel young again! :D

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are strong, passionate, and have the capability to love fiercely and deeply! Husbands and wives make decisions together, praying and fasting when necessary to know the Lord's plan for them and their family. I can't wait to be married and start a family! As women, we share with God the sacred power to create life. Men can't do that! They have the power and responsibility to provide for their family, and, with their wife, to love and lead their children to be active members of the gospel. There is complete equality between men and women in the church, and that's the way God intended! Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

As missionaries, our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ, and help them receive the restored gospel. When the missionaries visit your home, this is what is on their mind! There's no ulterior motive. They want to share with you their true message about Jesus Christ. They will share with you how the gospel has blessed their lives, and will teach you the principles of the gospel that will bless your life, too. They care about you as a person, and, as their friend, want you to grow spiritually and receive the same happiness and blessings they received when they were baptized! Show more Show less
