Hi I'm Sarie Cook

I grew up in Utah and want to be a preschool teacher. I'm now serving a mission in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Utah with my three younger siblings. I was attending Brigham Young University before I came on my mission. I'm studying early childhood education and want to open my own preschool when I graduate. I love being outdoors and spending time with my family and friends. I just started playing the ukulele and absolutely love photography. I love trying new things, especially in the kitchen. I love gymnastics, dance, and playing most sports. I'm currently serving as a missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission in the Fernandina Beach area. I have absolutely loved every minute of it. The gospel has brought me so much joy and I love sharing it with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life. When I was a child I always wanted to do what was right. When I got older I realized that I needed to gain a knowledge of the Church for myself. It didn't come all at once or in the form of heavenly messengers. My knowledge of the gospel came "line upon line and precept upon precept;" just like Christ. Learning and living the gospel takes time and it's something I will never be perfect at, but I can keep progressing towards it. I am a Mormon today because I know that this Church is Christ's restored church and that Christ leads and directs it. I know that this church is lead through a living prophet who receives revelation from God. I know that God's power has been restored to the earth and those who are worthy to hold it bless my life everyday. I am a Mormon today, not because I was raised Mormon; not because my parents and family are Mormon, but because I know the church is true for myself.

How I live my faith

I know that the gospel brings me closer to Jesus Christ which brings me joy. I have been so blessed in my life and I love my Savior, that's why I chose to come serve a mission. I prayed about it for a long time and decided it was the right thing for me to do. I received an answer to my prayers that God agreed with me. I live my faith as a missionary by trying to be like Christ. I'm so blessed everyday that I get to wear a nametag where my name and Jesus Christ's name identify me. I'm a representative of Christ and I try to act in ways that He would act. I live my faith through obedience. Living and keeping the commandments have brought me so many blessings and so many miracles. I know that as I continue to obey and strive to become more like Christ that my faith is increased.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Sarie Cook
Talk with members of the church and ask them questions. You can also tell them that you want to meet with missionaries. A missionary's responsibility is to bring others to Christ. They can teach you more about the church and how to find out answers for yourself. Don't be scared to ask questions. I have the wonderful opportunity to be a missionary and meet with people and try to help answer their questions and come closer to Christ. Go to LDS.org and you can find church buildings where members of the church worship every Sunday. Visitors are always welcome. Ask questions. I know the power that comes from asking questions. You can find out answers for yourself and come closer to Christ by searching for answers to your questions. Show more Show less
