Hi I'm Alice

I am a missionary, a morning person, and a dog-lover. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Utah is my home. I love to hike and camp so I've naturally fallen in love with the mountains there. My family is my life. I only have one sibling but I have more cousins than I can count and each of them are just as close to me as any brother or sister could be. I'm a dreamer; I love setting high goals and accomplishing things that I never thought I could. I play a lot of ultimate frisbee, I drink a lot of milk, and I write a lot of letters. I love making the most of every day by waking early and getting things done!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church upon the earth today. I have a personal testimony of this. I know that this church is the same gospel Jesus Christ set up during His earthly ministry and that it has been restored, completely and perfectly, through a modern-day prophet. I have a strong desire to follow my savior Jesus Christ, and I know that there is no better way for me to do that than by being a member of His church. I know that the testimony I have gained is available to everyone. By asking God in earnest prayer, I know that He will manifest the truth to all by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by knowing these truths for ourselves, we can more fully follow God's plan for us in this life. This gospel brings me happiness. I've known from a young age that following Christ's example has always brightened my life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints fills my life with a peace and joy I've found no where else.

How I live my faith

I have faith in Jesus Christ. I live this faith by following His example. I learn of His example by reading the scriptures, heeding the words of modern-day prophets, and coming close to Him through prayer. Every day I have to make the decision to follow Christ, but every day that I do, I feel His love more abundantly in my life and my desire to follow Him grows. To become more like Chist, I work hard to keep God's commandments which include prayer and scripture study, attending church and loving and serving my fellow man. The more I act upon my faith, the more my faith increases and I feel and see more blessings in my life.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Alice
Yes we do! The Bible is the word of God and, as all holy scripture, is a road map for us to make it back to our Father in Heaven someday. It was studying and pondering the Bible that brought the boy Joseph Smith to pray to his Father in Heaven and ask which church to join. It was after this prayer that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was restored to the earth - all from a single verse in the epistle of James! The Bible testifies of Christ and is thus essential to our faith. Show more Show less
