Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a letter writer, journal keeper, and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I grew up in the Los Angeles, California area until I was 14 at which time I moved to a small town in Idaho. I just graduated with my degree in psychology from Brigham Young University. I love to spend my time writing, whether it be in my journal or letters to close friends. I have found that when I put my life in writing, I am better able to see God's hand in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the great blessing of being born and raised in the church. However, I don't think I had the opportunity to really grow in my testimony until I moved away from home. Since then I've had the chance to consider how big a role the church and gospel was going to play in my life. I have learned that I am happiest when I follow the counsel of the apostles and prophet and I love to study their words. My holy places include anywhere I can quietly study the scriptures and pray aloud to my Father in heaven, for these are the things that give me peace.

How I live my faith

To me, being a disciple of Christ means that the gospel must be integrated into every aspect of my life. That being said, I try to live my faith at all times and in all places and in all things. I try to use every opportunity I can to build myself up in such a way that I can help better build the kingdom of God. I one day hope to be a wife and mother, so although I went to college to get my degree in psychology, I also used the opportunity there to take classes that will help me become a better wife and mother and create a better home.

What is the Relief Society?

Kelly
The Relief Society is a women's organization devoted to building faith and personal righteousness, strengthening families and homes, and helping those in need. I have had the great privilege of holding various roles in my local Relief Society including being a teacher, a secretary to the presidency over my congregation, and my current role as visiting teaching coordinator. Every member of Relief Society has the opportunity to be a visiting teacher to another or several other sisters in their congregation. Usually visiting teachers serve in a companionship with another visiting teacher and visit multiple sisters individually. Often they will deliver a gospel message monthly, but their primary role is to oversee the spiritual and temporal needs of those sisters. These purposes are best achieved through lovingly serving their sisters and becoming their genuine friends. I have had wonderful experiences through my service as a visiting teacher and believe that I have benefited from the friendship of my sisters far more than they have. It has been a spectacular blessing in my life. Show more Show less
