Hi I'm John Sullivan

I love music, I can dunk a basketball, and I am a return missionary from the California Fresno Mission. Heck, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm awkward, 6 foot 3 inches, and I love music! I love it a lot! I play the acoustic and electric guitar, write music/lyrics for each according to the genre, and I record. I plan on learning piano, a more broad knowledge of music theory, and minoring in music production/recording at school and building my own recording studio as a side hobby when I go through life after my mission. Before my mission I played guitar in a PunkCore/MetalCore band named "Desire My Difference" of which was a crazy good time! So yeah, music is a huge part of my life. After my mission I'll be doing an acoustic gig eventually... I have great parents and 8 awesome siblings, me being the second child of the 9 kids. I am the first of my siblings to leave on a mission and just returned from serving in the California Fresno Mission May 2013 - May 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

There is a peace of mind, heart, and soul that comes from being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints knowing that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is in my life as well as my families lives. I've seen the contrast that comes from faithfully following the gospel and not being very faithful to it. Because of the love of my family, of certain friends I had in the church; especially one who if I had not been blessed with specifically from my Father in Heaven I do not think I would be where I am at now; I was able to gain the resolve to want to be who God wants me to be for those I love, I finally turned to my Savior Jesus Christ and took hold of His outstretched hand and applied His Atonement in my life. Since then I've felt so much happier and have had so much of a greater presence of the Spirit in my life. I hadn't realized just how far I had fallen until I had the experience of Christ's atonement made possible through the Gospel and the people Father has blessed me with in my life. Now as I have been a missionary for a while now I've met many people(members, non-members, and missionaries alike) who have also influenced and changed my life for the better having been witness's to me that the Church is true through their testimonies and the way the Gospel has blessed them and changed them in their lives. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Heavenly Father, and I love my Savior. I know that they love me as well and that I am a son of my Father in Heaven and have a divine potential that only through the Atonement of His son Jesus Christ I will be able to realize and become. This knowledge is a strength to me in the lowest times of my life. I know this Church is true, that I have a Father in Heaven, and that Jesus is the Christ. And that without all of it, I would be completely lost. This is where I find peace, this is where I find happiness.

How I live my faith

I live day by day by my faith. By trying the best I can to be an example to my friends and family, especially to my siblings who have yet to grow older and serve missions of their own. I try to do the best I can with who I am and where I am at. I know I'll never be able to live it perfectly, but I strive daily to live and apply the attributes of Christ to myself and be an example of the believers.
