Hi I'm Haley Reese

I'm Graphic Designer, Photographer, now a missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Haley Reese. I'm a big fan of music of all kinds. I rap, sign, play the guitar, and try to find ways to be creative. For the past three years of my life I've worked as a Graphic Designer/Product Photographer for Aroma Tools in Utah. I just quit my job to serve as a missionary in the Nevada West Las Vegas Mission. It may not make a whole lot of sense but I know it's what the Lord wants me to do. Here's to the next 18 months!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. I grew up in the church. That’s doesn’t mean that I was converted at birth. I did however know that it was a good way to live your life and I knew that Christ existed even though a lot of my friends thought the opposite. I didn’t come to know that Church and the gospel of true until I was about 19. My parents always wanted me to go to BYU or BYUI (both Mormon schools) since I was little, I never had much a desire to go to one of those. I started going to Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ because I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go. I went to about two semesters of school there before I decided I needed something more. I felt empty, bored, and stuck. I decided to seriously pray about it and I got the feeling to go to school in BYU-Idaho. It was the middle of nowhere and didn't sound particularly exciting. I made that leap of faith and decided to go. Since I’ve made this decision my testimony has grown more and more. Fast forward a couple years and I still make the occasional bold leap of faith. I moved to Utah, which I also thought I'd never do. I'm quitting my job to become a missionary, shich is so risky in my field. So why do I do what I do? It's because I believe in that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored on the earth. I believe in the Mormon Church. They teach to live your life according to God's will and not your own and I truely believe in that. Never have a been so chanlleged, strengthen, and as happy then when I've been following God's will. It's an honor to have my religion and I love living it!

How I live my faith

I am a Compassion Service Assistant in my Ward. This means that I look for people who are struggling. Weather it they are spiritually, emotionally, or physically struggling my calling is to help them feel loved. Outside of my calling I also try to serve others and show love everyone. This has always been very important to me. In grade school I was always the one who would talk to those who would be considered the “weird kids” or the “outcasts”. I felt like it was wrong for them to be left without a friend. I really enjoy listening to the words of Church leaders and prophets as well. My favorite quote from President Monson is, “The past is behind us, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here Live it.” My roommate and I reacently adopted this as our mantra for life. It really helps me realize the importance of my life on Earth.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Haley Reese
The Atonement is Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our sins, where he died on the cross for us. The Lord loved us so much that he made way possible for all us not to suffer. There was one problem though, one person had to suffer and that was Christ, our brother. He volunteered to save everyone else. He was our example. Show more Show less
