Hi I'm Nicole

I'm from Idaho, I like to sit on top of mountains, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a nurse working at a women's clinic. I will be continuing my education in the fall in a masters of public health program. I love everything about the outdoors and nature--biking, hiking, camping, running, swimming...and my newest ambition is to be a master dutch oven cooker!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life, but my testimony has come bit by bit as I've continued to live the principles taught to me by my parents. One of the most important keys in my knowledge and understanding of the restored gospel is daily prayer with my Heavenly Father. I love the feeling of peace I get as I kneel each day in an effort to account to Him what I am doing with my life and to get a sense of my standing before Him. He helps me recognize my weaknesses, but also gives me the hope that through His son, Jesus Christ, I can overcome them and become a better person. I also know that the Book of Mormon contains a fullness of the truths we need to return to Him as revealed to His prophets. I have asked in prayer if it is true, and over time have come to feel a certainty that it is and that this is the true church and is directed by a prophet of God. I love my Savior with all my heart and hope to continue to come to know Him as I try to follow his teachings and live his gospel.

How I live my faith

My ambition and hope is to try to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ each day. A principle I try to Iive by to follow him is that SERVICE IS SWEET! After returning from serving an 18 month mission in Panama, I made a goal to try to never pass up an opportunity to serve someone. Sometimes it's really simple and Heavenly Father hands you opportunities right on your way, but other times it requires an extra effort to go out of my way and actively seek opportunities. I very much believe in the "eternal connections" we create as we go about serving. I know that every person on this earth is a son or a daughter of the same Heavenly Father and He wants us to love and serve each other. One of my favorite scriptures is from Matthew when Christ teaches, "Whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it." Trying to lose my life in service helps me forget more about myself, focus more on others, and ultimately makes life that much sweeter!
