Hi I'm Jenny

I've lived in several different states within the United States. I currently go to college in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to hike and swim and longboard. I enjoy the outdoors. I am also into music. I play the trumpet, guitar, and piano. In high school I was in the marching band, which entailed many long hours in the hot sun. My favorite instrument to use, though, is my voice. I can take it with me wherever I go. Singing is fun! I especially like to create harmonies with my siblings and friends. I like to spend time with my family. We make each other laugh. I've had some interesting jobs. For a while I worked on a farm. The horses there are beautiful. I enjoy the change of pace the farm provides. I've also worked as a scout camp leader. Right now I am going to college, just getting a few general education requirements taken care of. I am also preparing to serve as a full time missionary in Birmingham, England.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it brings me happiness and hope. Because of my membership in the church I know truths about who I am, a child of God. I have learned about the atonement, and that I can become clean from mistakes after I truly repent. I feel of the love that God has for me. I have been taught good standards too. In Matthew 11:28 it reads: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." The more I try to come unto Jesus by living gospel principles, the better I feel. I still experience heartache and misery at times, but I can find comfort in the fact that Christ understands the pains I have felt and that he can heal me. I think that there are portions of truth in religions other than my own, but I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contains ALL truth, revealed by God to men on earth today. I would not trade my membership in the church for any worldly pleasure there is.

How I live my faith

I have participated in many church activities throughout my life. When I was younger I took part in a "roadshow", which is a play put on by a church youth group. I also went on a pioneer trek a couple summers ago. It was interesting to dress up in old fashioned clothes and walk the same paths that the early Saints walked in order to escape persecution. I have had responsibilities in the church too. As part of my young women's presidency, I helped to plan youth activities. Now that I am older I have been a Visiting Teaching Supervisor. Visiting teaching is a way that the church encourages women to fellowship each other and help each other through difficult challenges. As a supervisor I called the women in my ward to see if they had visited with the people that they were assigned meet with.
