Hi I'm Zach

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I love the outdoors! If you are doing anything from having a picnic to hiking in the mountains or going camping in the desert I will be right there with you. Growing up in school I did loved being well rounded. As a kid I was playing a sport all year round, from Baseball in the spring/summer, to football in the fall, and even snowboarding during the winter time. As I got into high school I continued to play sports but my interests shifted to the theatrical side, where I continued to work hard in football in the fall, but instead I wrestled during the spring and did all sorts of plays in the spring. I love life and the lessons I have learned as I have lived my life. I am the oldest boy out of six kids in my family. I hope I can make them proud and have someone they can look up to as I continue to endure this wonderful life. Families are forever and I wouldn't be who I am without them.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I have always been taught to have faith and trust in the Lord, and when times got hard to get down on your knees and pray. But I wanted to know so I began to dig. I looked and tried to study as much as possible to find out for my self. One day I was in a horrible car accident that I gained a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My friends and I were in a vehicle that lost control and rolled where we were all rushed to the hospital where one of my best friends who I considered to be a brother lost his life. This was extremely hard on we were about to begin our senior year of high school. I kept asking myself why him? He was such a leader and a hard worker and I looked to him for advice about everything. What was I supposed to do? Although having an extremely hard time decided to look to the scriptures where I found exactly what I needed to read. In the Doctrine and Covenants in section 121 vs. 7-8 It said: "My son peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; and then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes." Such a powerful scripture in my time of need that I knew my heavenly father put before me in such a hard time. I learned that I will see him again and that he is watching out for me now. I know this church is true, with all my heart. Amen

How I live my faith

Recently I have just received a mission call to the Mexico Hermosillo Mission, and I cannot express my excitement and gratitude for my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I have always had a testimony of what I believe in and I am so happy I can share that with the wonderful people of Mexico. I have worked so hard to be where I am today and I personally had to dig down and explore the Mormon faith to find for myself if it was true, and I found it. I have experienced to many things to not believe it. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet and translated the golden plates into the Book of Mormon. I know my Savior, Jesus Christ was sent to earth to Atone for our sins, and was the only one good enough to do it so we all could return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I know our prophet President Thomas S Monson is a true prophet of God. I know we all can be forgiven for our sins through repentance and baptism by emersion. I love being a Mormon. I am so grateful for all it has done for me. Amen.
