Hi I'm Justin

I am a former high school track athlete, a returned missionary who served in Los Angeles and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My mother's side of the family comes from the state of Maryland while my biological father's side of the family comes from Hawaii. I have one sister, and one half sister. My immediate family currently resides in the Colorado Springs area. I was a high school track and cross country athlete. My family and my friends are my life and I would never trade them for anything else in the world. I currently have intentions to serve in the United States Army.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have a great life, I go through trials in my life just like anybody else. Both my parents went through a divorce while I was very young. My mother was left as a single mother to raise my sister and I. Knowing that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that he will provide a way for us to live a happy life, my mother began dating an inactive member of the church which eventually led up to her being introduced to the church in general starting with the missionaries. After many months of investigating in the church, my mother was baptized into the church. Following by my mother's example and seeing how much the church had made such a positive impact in her life, I knew that the church was for me as well. My mother eventually remarried a few years later to my stepfather and gave birth to my half sister. Our family has finally been reformed. We now do all that we can to attend church on a weekly basis and keep up on participating in all church functions.

How I live my faith

During my adolesence, I did everything I could to serve my community by helping families move into our neighborhood, helping my fellow peers within the church complete their Eagle Scout projects and so forth. Being a cadet in the ROTC program and a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped me to have integrity, to provide service at any opportunity I have, and to be excellent in all that I do.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet just like those who are found in the Holy Bible such as Noah, Abraham, Isaiah etc. We are very grateful for the life that he lived and the faith that he truly had but he is not the Savior, Jesus Christ. We worship God because He placed His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, on the Earth to atone for our sins and to be the Savior and Redeemer of the World. The Gospel of Jesus Christ which is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was completely restored through Joseph Smith in 1830 in Palmyra, New York. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Many people believe that we are a cult because we follow a prophet but they forget that that prophet is called and ordained of God to lead His church. If I can remember the exact definition of a cult, it's a group or gathering of people of specific religious beliefs so if that's the case isn't Christianity in general a cult? Show more Show less
