Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm a Texan. I love to try new things. I'm spending eighteen months of my life in Nicaragua. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Texas for 10 years. I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends. I love sunshine and smiles. I look at everyday as an opportunity! I am part of a family of 6. I spent 3 semesters at BYU-Idaho, and I am currently studying Health Science.I play the flute, some piano, and I have loved participating in dance, choir, and other musical activities! I am preparing to serve a mission at age 19 in the Nicaragua, Managua South Mission for 18 months, and I could not be more excited. I love to try new things and to find joy in everything I do!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church for my whole life, but I am a Mormon simply because I choose to be! The gospel's message is one of great hope and love. Over time, my testimony of the gospel has grown as I act on faith, and experience the wonderful blessings that come from obedience. I know that my Heavenly Father knows me personally. I know it because I see his hand in my life constantly. I find so much comfort in my knowledge of the plan of salvation because I know that if I do all that I can, I will be able to live with Him and all my loved ones again. I am humbled to think that the creator of the universe has a plan for me, and desires for me to reach my potential as His daughter. I cannot describe the very deep and real joy that I have as I turn to the Book of Mormon, my favorite book, and find comfort and answers. This gospel teaches me the principles that are the source of all my happiness! I love it!

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed serving in many positions of the Church! One of the most enriching experiences I have had is teaching the sweet children ages 4 and 8. Each moment I spend teaching them, I learn so much from them. They are so loving and trusting, they are an example to me! I will be serving a mission for the next year and a half of my life, and I could not be more excited! I hope to share what I know to be true so that others can experience the same happiness and real joy that I have been so blessed with.
