Hi I'm Dan

I grew up in Kansas. I'm studying Neuroscience. I love to play frisbee and juggle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Missouri and raised in the Kansas countryside. I have 3 brothers and the cutest niece and nephew. My family is awesome because we are all super close. They are my most prized possession. I'm addicted to Ultimate Frisbee, any day it's nice outside you'll see me heading out the door with frisbee looking for pick-up games. When I was in High School I played on my brother's college team... I love frisbee. I also juggle... in the dark... with lighted juggling balls... to techno music... that I learned off YouTube. I love staying active through running; track, cross-country, road races, you name it. I devote most of my time to my studies. I'm a college student, studying neuroscience and biophysics. I'm hoping to go into medicine after graduation, I just love to discover the beauty and intricacy of the human body.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a wonderful home, where my parents taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon, every page, and know it to be true. I have also read the Bible, and know it to be true. I have received answers to my prayers concerning the restoration of the gospel in these latter days to the prophet Joseph Smith. I know Christ atoned for our sins, if we choose to repent and accept him as our savior. I do not think of Christ dead on the cross, but as a resurrected being, who's work continues. Through Christ, we can be redeemed and return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know death is not the end of those who walk this earth, nor is it the end of the family unit. I have lost loved ones, but I know I will see them again, part of Heavenly Fathers plan is that families can be together forever. The Holy Ghost has born witness to me of these truths. I'm not a perfect person, but I look to better myself everyday and trust in The Lord. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith defines me as a person. It has motivated me to do many things that most young people my age don't do. In High School I attended a scriptural study group every morning at 5:45 a.m. before school to start each day on a spiritual note. I recently returned from a two year mission in the country of Uruguay, it was a truly wonderful experience for me. During that time I was completely focused on reaching out to help other people, instead of just myself, and therefore was the happiest time of my life. I currently serve in the church by helping coordinate and teach Sunday School classes during our worship services every Sunday. I also visit a few families of the congregation each month to share a message and to lend a hand if they're passing through a particularly difficult time. I'm always looking for additional opportunities to serve others, I currently visit and help out tutoring children at a local Elementary School every week.
