Hi I'm Emily

I am a full time missionary, I am an Arizona wildcat, I love my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For the last year I attended the University of Arizona and fell in love with my school. My father attended this university and my whole family loves this school. As I attended, I loved the people, the sports, the academics and the school spirit that resided there. I am majoring in psychology and hope to one day work in a pediatric hospital to help children and their families cope emotionally with the illness that has effected their lives. But I currently have decided to take two years off from school to serve a full time mission. Although I am leaving behind a lot that I love I know this is what I need to do at this time.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into the church, I have always been taught in the ways of the church. I never doubted the church and its goodness but I did come to a point in my life that I had to know for myself why i was living the way I was. I had to make good decisions because of my choice to do so, not because the church was telling me to or because my parents told me to. Once I came to realize that I was living my life the way I wanted to and also how God wanted me to, the gospel became much clearer to me. Also, my testimony was strengthened the most and was solidified when I invited a friend to come and learn more. As she learned and grew within the gospel, I also grew closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father. The best way to strengthen one's testimony is to share it with someone else. The greatest thing I ever did was share this joy with someone else and that contributed a lot to me deciding to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

Participating actively in my ward and the university institute program, I served on a committee that planned activities for the non married lds students. In this calling I was able to help members of the church my age come together and build relationships within the gospel. It was a joy to help others create and strengthen friendships where a common faith was present. As a member of this committee I was able to reach out to others not involved with our faith and invite them to participate with the members of the church.
