Hi I'm Mathew

I grew up in Austin, Texas. I'm currently a missionary in the great WA-TAC. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently returned from serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tacoma, Washington. I'm currently studying at Brigham Young University. Art, music, and photography are a few of my passions.

Why I am a Mormon

Every member, whether a convert or born in the covenant, has to go through their own type of conversion process. Two years ago I had a close friend pass away and I didn't know where to turn. I was angry at God, if there was a God, for taking away someone so young and innocent. I remember kneeling down in prayer asking God why he would let something like this happen. As I let out my heart I felt an overwhelming warmth that engulfed my entire body. That was the last thing I expected. If God was real why wouldn't he just strike me down on the spot for what I was saying to him? That feeling has been repeated over and over as I have gone to church and been able to share the gospel. Although I don't know everything about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I believe that it brings peace and joy which is more than I could ask for. This is God's church once again established on the Earth. I believe this because I have felt it, not just because I hope it is true.

How I live my faith

While serving my mission I learned so much about myself and my Savior. I strive to exemplify Christ in all that I do and to see others as children of God. Faith is something living; it breathes and grows as our understanding and trust in our Heavenly Father and His gospel expands. The best way to live my faith is to be a true Christian and follow Christ's footsteps.
