Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am Daniel. I am 19 years old and about to serve a mission in Japan. I like to go fishing, mountain biking, and hiking in the rain. Although it contradicts my activities listed above, my favorite season is winter! I am a blue belt at Brazilian jiu jitsu and I enjoy practicing martial arts that are similar to that.

Why I am a Mormon

I think my main reason for being a Mormon is my parents. I grew up in the Church my whole life so it came easy as I was young to do the things they asked. As I grew up, I had some stages of rebellion like most teenagers. I moved away for college for a semester and when I was out of the house, going to church no longer was required. It was my choice whether to go or not to go. As I met people in college I started hearing about how they grew up and about how they lived now and I really started to appreciate the way I was raised. I kept going to church and trying harder to read my scriptures and say my prayers and as I kept doing those things, I noticed that little things in my life started improving. Things that weren't so good got better, and things that were already good got even better. I kept my gospel studying up and I prayed and got the feeling that I needed to serve a mission. That is now where I am. A month away from serving a mission for the Church and I couldn't be happier with how my life is going and where I will be later.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by trying to be a good example to anyone I meet. I want them to see the light the gospel gives me whenever they are near me. Being a positive influence is something I am all about! I am also going to live my faith more intensely as I serve a mission for the next two years.
