Hi I'm Joe Brubaker

I am from California. I served a 2 year mission in Mexico, I am married, and currently studying Health Science at BYU-I.

About Me

I am studying Health Science with an emphasis in health promotions, I have no idea what I will do with that major yet. I have been married for about 5 months, my wife is an English major and I love what she writes, and she is a pretty good singer too. I love to play basketball to try to keep the newly wed weight off, so far so good! I love the summer time cause I like to get outdoors and hike, camp, and fish.

Why I am a Mormon

About five years ago a man asked me why I was a Mormon? after being somewhat persistent I tried to explain a watered down version of it, not satisfied the man asked me again why I was a Mormon. My mind went blank except for one thought "you have been a member of this church your whole life and you can't even answer that simple question?" After praying, reading the Book of Mormon, and looking for the answer I can now respond I am a Mormon because I have received an answer to prayer that this is the church of God that he knows me and loves me. He has a great plan for me and my future family, and part of that plan is happiness and through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ I can be clean of sin, resurrected, and able to be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I am part of a group of 4 other individuals that help people feel welcome at church and also help those who do not feel welcome become more familiar with others and make friends so they can be comfortable at church. As men in the church we meet with families once a month to see how we can help them, so I along with my companion visit 2 families a month who we are really good friends with and see if they need anything, meaning if they need help painting or carrying something just anything at the moment or something in the future. They know they can count on us!
