Hi I'm Matthew Allen

I'm am from Idaho. I grew up in a small farming community of 467 people. I am an Eagle Scout.

About Me

I love riding dirt bikes, playing football, basketball and goofing off with my family. This year I was able to play on football and basketball teams that went to state. I have great friends and siblings that love to dirt bike with me. My whole family got into dirt bikes when I was 9 years old. I will graduate from high school this May and then serve a LDS Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raise a member of the LDS faith, I had to get my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The reason why i am a Mormon though is because it is the truth. I have read prayed and studied and i know it is true through the holly ghost. The great thing about this is that everyone can know and do the same thing that i did, and that comes by reading the book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have worked as a youth leader in the church for the past 6 years. During this time we did many service projects, scout camps, and weekly activities. During this time I attended church and participated in teaching lesson to other members my age and fulfilling assignments that were given me. As a scout of 15, I earned my Eagle. The service project I was in charge of was refurbishing 76 track hurdles for my high school. Our school district has purchased retired hurdles from 3 universities. The universities names were painted on the fiberglass cross bars. I had to figure out how to remove the names, and put the school name back on them. What a mess! It learned many was not to do this job. Finally some good friends of my father who worked in trailer manufacturing gave me suggestions on how to remove the paint and then donated some of the vinyl labels with the schools names on them. Under my direction the members of my scout troop came and helped fix the labels to the cross bars.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Matthew Allen
The Book of Mormon Is another testament of Jesus Christ. It was written by people in America at the same time as the bible. It is about 1000 years of history from 600 BC to about 400 AD. We invite people to read this book and pray about weather or not it is true, and by the holly ghost we can know the truth of all things. Show more Show less
