Hi I'm Madison

I grew up in Utah. I work as a special needs para educator at a high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my job as a special needs para educator of a High School. The students that I get to work with are amazing and I learn so much from them. I'm currently going to college and majoring in english education. Right now I want to become a high school english teacher, but that may change. I love to sing in my bathroom, in my living room, in the kitchen, in my car, in church, and, to the annoyance of my coworkers, at work. I love seeing plays, my favorites are Wicked, Aida, Les Mis, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. I've been in musicals at school, and performed in Shakespeare competition. I was also in the pit orchestra playing the violin for 2 high school plays. I love to read, one of my favorite authors is Shannon Hale. I also love to write, which is one of the reasons I would like to become and english teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints, but at a very young age I was faced with the decision of wether or not to follow the church. My parents divorced when I was 8 years old, and shortly after my siblings fell away from the church. My mom became ill and it was hard for her to attend church. I remember crying to the Lord one night asking him if he was really there and I felt an amazing peace, and love wash over and warm my soul. As I continued to attend church on my own, I received answers to many prayers and my testimony of the gospel grew. I never felt alone, I knew that the Lord was by my side and guiding me, and I still feel that today. I have known, and continue to grow in the knowledge that the gospel I am living is the true gospel of Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. As I continue to read, study, and live the doctrines found in the Book of Mormon I know that it is truly from God, and I know that it is scripture brought forth for this time. I know that the Savior suffered and died for each of us and was then resurrected. I know that through His atonement we can become washed clean of our sins, and feel closer to our Father in Heaven. I know that the Lord knows and loves each one of us, because I have felt his love for me as well as for those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in callings in my ward. I have been a leader for young women, and in that calling I was able to organize youth activities, teach lessons, conduct meetings, and make young women feel welcome and included at activities as well as at church. At home I lived my faith by being a good example for my older siblings and my mom, and by serving them daily. I try to be a good example wherever I go, so that others may know that I am a follower of Christ. I am now serving as a full-time missionary for the next 18 months in the New York, Utica Mission. This gives me the opportunity to study doctrine, learn from my companion, and share with others what I have learned and what I know to be true.
