Hi I'm Adam Goff

I'm a snowboarder, runner, and laser-tag fanatic. I love my family, friends, and people in general. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Adam Goff. I'm currently nineteen years old, serving the people of the Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission, and I couldn't be happier to serve the Lord in this way. I'm a social person with a diverse sense of humor, enjoying both intellectual jokes and immature antics. I'm not a great singer, and an even worse dancer, but I love to have fun and try new things. I'm a hard worker, but occasionally take on a few too many tasks to handle with my habit of procrastination. I enjoy being active, and doing anything that involves running, especially track and cross country. I have a strange passion for history, which are the only kind of lectures I can stay awake in. Art has never been my thing and I'm a slow reader, but I can really unleash my imagination in writing. I'm a generally happy person and love to see others happy, so I naturally love giving service to other people, especially the people of Argentina!

Why I am a Mormon

I came into a world that revolved around the gospel of Jesus Christ, learning everything parallel to His teachings. I was baptized as soon as I was able at the age of eight, and continued to learn the Gospel. My testimony came gradually and steadily, through a series of trials, successes, and even humbling failures. I believe that miracles continue to happen in modern times, and have had many experiences where I've seen divine influence in my life. I have read the words of prophets in the scriptures, and know that they are the Word of God. Whenever I pray to know whether the Book of Mormon is true, I eventually receive a peaceful yet powerful answer that confirms the truthfulness and sacred validity of this testament of Jesus Christ. I know that through a young man named Joseph Smith, Christ restored His church on the earth, to aid His Father's children in their journey to return to Him. I'm so grateful to be a part of it, and desire to spread the good news of the Restoration and the Atonement to all of God's children. I'm serving a mission because I love my Heavenly Father. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will bring more happiness to the lives of the children of God than by anything else. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the only way by which we can progress. I want to extend the invitation to all who desire it, to repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and experience the happiness that God will bring to them.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in a loving family who taught me the gospel from a young age. I've always been the "good little Mormon boy" and didn't struggle catching on to the difference between right and wrong. I still consider myself today as being one who is most comfortable doing the morally right things, because I understand the value my Father in Heaven puts upon righteousness and purity. I've had plenty of struggles, and numerous times in which I've had to use the Atonement- some more intense than the others- but I've gained a strong testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that through His divine sacrifice, He has saved me from the bonds of death, and allowed me to be saved in the Kingdom of God. Though I don't fully understand it, I'm eternally grateful for the role the Atonement plays in God's plan of Happiness, and I know that if I use it to its full extent, I can become perfected through it. I strive to rid myself of my mortal imperfections, and take upon myself the name of Jesus Christ. As a young child of God, all I want to do is make my Heavenly Father proud, and return to His presence. I can't wait to share the knowledge of the Atonement and Eternal Families with the people of Argentina. I know the Lord has a special love for them, and wants them to know of that love.
