Hi I'm JoLene

I grew up in Idaho. I've lived in eight different states in the last 34 years of marriage. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the LDS Church, attended and graduated four years of Seminary. I worked during spud harvest on a combine from age 14-18 for my girlfriends father. After I graduated from high school I went to work at a hotel as a maid in 1976. That was the year the the Teton Dam broke and I took part in the clean up on a crew from the hotel I worked at. I went to a technical school to train as a dental assistant and worked in the field for 5 years. I am married and have 3 children and 2 step-chidren. I went back to work after my children were school age in the school district we lived in as a teachers aide so I could have the same hours as my children and the summers off with them. I have also helped my husband in our self-employed business doing secretarial and auto-cad drawings. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, bicycling and gardening. I like a good book that holds my interest, seeing a good movie, trying new recipes and doing arts and crafts. I've tried my hand at knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting.

Why I am a Mormon

I have experienced trials and adversity throughout my life and have always known as a small child that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. I have experienced the Atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ first hand in my life and I am indebted to Him for who I have become today. I know that my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ know who I am and know me by name. I know that the Holy Ghost prompts me and guides me in my life as to the decisions my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ need me to make to stay in alignment to their will for my path while here on this earth. I know that I will be with my family in the eternities if I keep the commandments and endure to the end in all things. My testimony that my Savior Lives and Loves me is my greatest treasure. I am grateful for my divine inheritance as a daughter of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that there is a living Prophet on earth today that leads and guides His Church. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and I am grateful for his sacrifices he made to translate the Book of Mormon and the role he willingly played in the restoration of Jesus Christs' church here on this earth.

How I live my faith

I have lived in 8 different states and attended many different Wards and Branches in the places I have lived and in my travels with my husband and in my church callings. My husband is a convert to the church and was baptized after 10 years of marriage and the unfortunate death of a child when she was age 7. We were blessed to be married in the Temple one year after my husbands baptism and have three of our children sealed to us. My step-daughters are not members of the church, but are Christian woman who believe in Jesus Christ. We were foster parents for 10 years and helped raise my niece and nephew in our home for 4 1/2 years while doing foster care. We saw several children come through our home in the foster care system. All of our children are married and we have 8 grand children. I myself am a stepdaughter to a lovely woman who married my Father a year after my Mother passed away. I have grown in many callings in the church that I have served in and will be serving a 6 month service mission this year in the states.
