Hi I'm Haley

I'm a missionary in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission. I love to travel, try new things, and anything bright. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in sunny California, but I currently live in Utah for college. I love to read, be outside, spend time with friends and family, craft, create typography, try new foods, and travel whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

It's a simple question, yet I feel like it's the most important one. As a young women who was born into a mormon family, I have been lucky enough to be taught from them. Yet, I wanted to know for myself and not have to rely solely on my family's ideas and beliefs. I did the very thing I learned in church. I prayed to God on my own. From that prayer it only confirmed to me what I already knew: I am a daughter of God. I can still remember that prayer I said alone to myself just as I was just startting high school. I remember feeling alone and overwhelmed, but as soon as I offered a heartfelt plea to my Heavenly Father I received the most overwhelming feeling of love and peace. I began crying and smiling all at the same time. Never before had I experienced a feeling like that before. I realized that there was no other possible explanation for what had just happened to me than it being God testifying to me through the Holy Spirit that I was not alone, that I mattered to him, and that he loved me just as any loving parent does. I realized then that I didn't want those feelings of love, clarity, and peace to go away in my life. I knew that in order to always feel that I needed to devote myself to this church and gospel and live my life in accordance to what God would have me do. I'm a mormon because no where else can I feel such overwhelming love and peace in my life. No where else am I challenged to be a little better everyday, and to follow Christ's example and do as he would. Being a mormon helps me to see a divine purpose in my life and understand that my family is important and eternal. I see that everyone is a loved son or daughter of God and is worthy of love and respect. I see that Christ is a merciful Savior who died on a cross and rose on the third day. I know that choosing to pray and find out for myself if the Mormon church is true or not has taught me more about myself and my divide potential than I could have learned anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply trying to be better each and everyday. Whether that's being an example with my friends or trying to look for opportunities every single day to do a small act of service. Living my faith to me is showing to others what I know to be true and right.
