Hi I'm Benjamin Griffin

I have been called to serve a mission in Guatemala. I live in Utah. I love music, filmmaking, camping and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the time that I get to spend with my wonderful family. I am the oldest of 10 kids, and it is the best! My most cherished memories are my interactions with my family members. My parents are awesome, and they have been a massive influence on who I am today. I have learned lessons in the home that couldn't have been learned anywhere else. I have many varied interests and hobbies. I love going out into nature and seeing the wonderful creation that God has created for us. My favorite outdoor activities are: Camping, Hiking, Canoeing, Backpacking, etc. I also love filmmaking. It's a hobby that has really been fun to explore. I love being able to tell a story through film and create videos that are inspiring. Music is a big part of my life. Even though I have not had a ton of formal training, I play the piano and I sing. I have composed music for many years, and am grateful to my Heavenly Father for the inspiration He has given me in regards to composing music. I have been part of the BSA, and I have received many opportunities to learn and grow. I received my Eagle Scout, and have had great leadership roles because of my involvement with Scouting. My life has been so wonderful, and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life. On July 28, 2016, my life changed. I received a mission call to serve the Lord in the Guatemala Guatemala City Central mission. I look forward to this and am so grateful to be able to serve the people of Guatemala for the next two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to goodly parents who love the Lord. They have passed this on to me, and I am proud to say that I love the Lord as well, and I am so grateful that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. My life would be horrible if I didn't have the gospel of Jesus Christ to help me through my trials and shortcomings. I have a testimony of the Savior. I know that He is the Redeemer of the World. He wants us to turn to Him and try to become more like Him. I know that He can make much more out of our lives than we can by ourselves. We just have to ask for His guidance and Christ will guide us throughout life. I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. I have studied it every day for the last few years, and there has been a noticeable difference in my life because of it. I have increased spirituality, and I am able to get through the day better because of my study of the Book of Mormon. It is a true book, and anyone who reads it with a sincere heart will know of it's truthfulness like I do! I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and through him restored the Church upon the earth. Because I have lived in the Church my whole life, I do not know what it is like to be searching for the one true church, but I do know that I would be missing an important part of my life if I didn't have it. I know that Jesus lives! He is the Savior of the world. He can heal any heartache. He can change lives. He can help us through anything. I love Him with all my heart, and I hope to become more like Him and Heavenly Father throughout the rest of my life. I have experienced the healing, cleansing, purifying power of Christ's Atonement. I cannot imagine my life without it. I know that anyone who comes unto Christ will be received in open arms of His love. He loves everyone of His children, and wants them to turn to Him. I am so grateful for my Savior.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my ward in Springville, Utah. Our family was lucky to move into a great area. Everyone is so kind and wonderful. I have served in various Priesthood presidencies over the years. Right now I am the first assistant to the Bishop in the Priests Quorum. I live my faith by keeping the commandments and following the Prophet. I have experienced what it is like when you make mistakes and live without the happiness that the gospel brings. I have also experienced what it is like to live the gospel and the joy that it brings. There is nothing like simply following the Savior. That's what this is all about. We are all here on this earth to become what we were meant to be. The only way to do this is to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ. "His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son." (The Living Christ) I have a testimony of that. I have realized that life isn't about forcing others to be exactly like you. That's not what the church is about. Life is all about finding the Savior personally, and then reaching out to other people and pointing them in the right direction. Not forcing them to live exactly as you do. Life is a journey. It's a process, and others won't be able to find the redemptive powers of Jesus Christ's Atonement unless they are able to work through their struggles with the help of their Savior. That journey is a very personal one, and it only happens between the Savior and you on an individual level. I am so grateful for the Atonement of Christ in my life. Whenever I mess up, I can turn to my Savior, and He is always there with open arms welcoming me back. I can be clean again. I can feel the Holy Ghost guiding me again. It is a wonderful feeling. I hope to help point others to the Savior and help them to feel of the redemptive power of Christ while I serve my mission in Guatemala.
