Hi I'm Chase Connell

I grew up in San Diego and love to surf. I am currently serving in the Mexico Monterrey East Mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in San Diego, California until I was 17. For the past year I have lived with some family friends in Utah to help me grow personally and spiritually. I have learned a lot about myself and my testimony has grown a lot. I am currently serving as a missionary in Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because i know that the Church of jesus Christ of latter Day Saints is the true church of Christ restored on this earth. Through my early teen years I rebelled against my parents and their belief in this church. I have come to know for myself that we have a loving heavenly Father and he sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. The peace of knowing that we can be forgiven of all our past sins is very comforting to me. I also find peace in the knowledge that I can live with my family forever.

How I live my faith

Since I am young the most important and basic thing I can do is be an example to my friends and do my best to live in a way which is in accordance with the gospel. I will serve a mission for 2 years in Monterrey Mexico.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Chase Connell
We believe that baptism is one of the ordinances that is necessary for salvation. Jesus Christ set an example for us by being baptized while he was on the Earth. Some people while living on this Earth, do not have the opportunity to accept the gospel and be baptized or perform other ordinances for themselves. We do proxy baptisms in behalf of those people so that they may receive the ordinances necessary for exaltation. After all the ordinances are complete, the people in the next life still have their agency to accept or deny these ordinances. Show more Show less
