Hi I'm Emily

I love puns, otters, and soccer. I'm the only girl of three brothers and I love it. I play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time student at Utah State University. I love playing the piano and am currently a piano performance major. I am also trying to learn the guitar. Music is a major part of my life. I am the only daughter in my family of six. I love my brothers. I wouldn't be where I am without having them. I love my family. We have family game night sometimes which contains argument, whining, cheating attempts and a lot of laughing. Those game nights are some of my favorite times. I love the outdoors and being athletic. I love playing soccer. I have played my entire life and loved it just as long. I also love running, hiking and biking. I love to laugh. I love cute animals and animals that are so ugly they become cute.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel. I have been familiar with the gospel my entire life. My mother was not a member her entire life, but my father was. I'm so grateful for my mother that she met with the missionaries and joined the church. My family would not be what they are now if she didn't have the courage to do that. I love the knowledge that I have about why I am here on this earth and who I am. I know that I am a daughter of a God and I should treat my body and myself accordingly. I love knowing that my family can be together forever. As I have lost loved ones in my life, this knowledge has been especially comforting for me. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that it contains truths and it really is another testament of Jesus Christ. I am so lucky to have the Book of Mormon on my bed side table, ready to be read anytime I want. I love having a knowledge that there is a living prophet on the earth today because I can listen to him and have guidance in this confusing world. I am a Mormon because I love this gospel. Ultimately it makes me happy. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the LDS church for my entire life. I have have had many responsibilities in the various wards that I have been in. While I was a part of the youth girls group in the church, I was blessed in holding my first callings. I was able to be the president of my age group twice. I was also a first counselor, second counselor, and secretary on and off in my many years. When I moved away from home and to Utah State University, being part of an LDS ward was one of the best support systems I could have had. I also was able to serve as the second counselor of the Women's organization of the church. I loved being able to get to know the girls of my ward on a more personal level because of the calling in which I was serving. I also had the calling of being the ward choir director. It was the scariest calling I've ever had. I learned so much and loved it so much. It taught me so much about myself. I was able to serve my ward in a different way than I was used to and I loved it.
