Hi I'm Brad

I live on a river and sometimes have to canoe out of our farm, I work for the Navy. I have 5 kids, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the oldest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I married Carol 20 years ago and we have 4 boys and 1 girl. In our last home we could see the mountains and I always longed to move there. We moved here 2 years ago and ran a campground from our camper for 6 months for the National Forestry Dept. We just moved to a farm on a river in the mountains near a Navy base. It is beautiful living the mountains. We love to explore our new farmland and are active in a community Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troops and Crew.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life and was baptized at the age of 8, which is the traditional age for baptism in my faith. Following the example of my parents I learned the teachings of Jesus Christ throughout my childhood and teenage years. Then age 19 I answered the call from a prophet of God to served a mission spreading the Good News for two years in Ohio. During that time of teaching and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ I developed a personal relationship with my Savior that has not only sustained my believe in Him, but has deepened my love and understanding of how much he cares for and loves his children here on earth. I have witnessed miracles and God's power in my life through His priesthood power. “I Believe in Christ” is one of my favorite hymns. Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, the very Rock of my faith upon which I can stand on solid ground. Joseph Smith was a prophet who sacrificed all in restoring the Gospel in the latter days. My only sacrifice is to live for Christ, follow his teachings, and share the truths with those I know and meet.

How I live my faith

I am the Young Men's President which is like a youth minister. With that I am the Venturing Crew Advisor and an Assistant Scoutmaster for our Community Boy Scout Crew and Troop. I am also the Webelos Den Leader in our Community Cub Scout Pack. My wife, son, and I recently joined the South Fork Ruritan Chapter for our community. In our church we visit other members in the ward (congregation); we call this home teaching. We created a home teaching team to visit 9 families who live a part of our Ward that is in Virginia. Myself and three of the priests and the missionaries team up with the one member in that area to visit those 9 families once a month. We have developed some wonderful friendships through this effort.
