Hi I'm Ashton Tryon

I'm a young single adult about to serve a mission in England Birmingham. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I graduated high last year and have a semester of college under my belt. While in high I discovered a love for photography and hope to continue on with it in my life. I also was part of the yearbook staff and have found a talent for making layouts and graphic design. I like to read; I'm a sucker for romantic novels and appreciate the classics. I also would love to see and travel the world and do humanitarian work, I'm still young so I hope in can fulfill my dream. I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints and because of that I decided to put my life on hold for a LDS mission! I leave June 13 to serve in England, I can not wait!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I have always known it was true. Yes sometimes I had doubts, but when I thought about my life without this gospel is was sad and lonely, then I prayed and asked my Heavenly Father and had this thought pop into my head, "You know it's true". And I do know its true, I've read Joseph Smith's account and I've read the Book of Mormon and taken the challenge to pray if it was true, Holy Ghost touch my heart and let me know this is the true and everlasting gospel upon this earth. Now and forever.

How I live my faith

Well I am about to serve a mission for the church, and because of that I will live my faith each day. I will get up each day and read my scriptures and find ways to talk to people and teach them about this true church. It's a full time calling for 18 months for girls and 2 years for boys. I look forward to the adventures I will have.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Ashton Tryon
First, the missionaries want you to learn everything you can learn about the church and about the gospel. There are multiple lessons and discussions to teach. But the most important thing they want you to feel when they see you is the Holy Ghost. They are not interested in proving you wrong, they want you to feel the love of Jesus Christ and everything that He and our Father in heaven want to give you. So maybe the question for you is, are you willing to listen and feel a feeling that is peaceful and comforting. Because when the missionaries bear you their testimony about the Jesus Christ and the plan that is in store for us, you will need a open heart and willing ears to listen. Only then can you feel the truth of what they preach. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Ashton Tryon
I have never taken any alcohol, coffee or tea, tobacco, or illegal drugs. I have a happy and healthy life and I have no desire to take any of these substances because I've heard stories and seen what it does to people. I'm not "missing out on life" by living the Word of Wisdom, I'm making it better and longer. Show more Show less
