Hi I'm Dawn

I wanted teen girls to realize their self worth, I, started a blog just for girls, http://www.pearls-4-girls.com.

About Me

As a young girl I was over weight and never really felt good about myself. I had a hard time doing anything because I never really felt like I was as good as everyone else. At 13 I went to Weight Watchers and I lost 50 pounds, this turned me into a new person. I quickly came to realize I was this person all the time, and the weight just made me feel inadequate. As I grew older I noticed that most young girls have things, about themselves that they don't like. Things that keep them from their potential. I wanted to change that for young woman, and help them to realize, none of us are perfect and we all have things that bother us. I wanted them to realize that beauty is the inner light that they show through the way they treat others, the way they act and the wonderful talents each girl possesses. I am a home school mom to 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl, I enjoy being with my family and doing anything outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I always went to church, but I always felt like there was more to the gospel. I met a young man, who was a member of the church and he treated me differently then other boys. I asked about his church and was able to speak with the missionaries. As I took the discussions, I came to the understanding that this was what I was looking for, I joined the church at 19. That was 22 years ago and the blessings I have received from this decision has greatly affected my happiness and my ability to know the true joy in life. Through the gospel I had a better understanding of the Savior and His love for me and His willingness to sacrifice His life for me. I have gained a greater since of family. It has also helped me to know that I am not alone and I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me. It has brought a light into my life, that even when things get hard I have the faith to move forward

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in the Young woman's program in my ward. I am so blessed to be able to be to teach the girls sixteen to eighteen. I love being there for the girls and feeling their testimonies and helping them to realize their full potential. Each Sunday and Wednesday night we are able to gather together and strengthen each other and grow closer to the Savior. These girls love the Lord and want to follow His will in their lives, it is such a blessing to be able to see girls, who know they are daughter to a King and know how much their Savior loves them.
