Hi I'm Boyd

I grew up in California. I'm a metrologist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad, work full time, and for a number of years took on-line university courses. I now work as the Quality Manager for a Metrology laboratory. I like to play guitar and bass. I've played in bands since I was a teenager and enjoy rock music, but have played in country, punk, oldies and even a '70's dance music band.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My mother would take my brothers and I every Sunday. When I was a teenager I began to question what I believed. Why was I coming to church? Is it true? I wasn't even sure if God was real. I needed to know for myself. I was taught in Primary about Joseph smith praying to know which was the right church, and Moroni's challenge to "... ask‍ God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith‍ in Christ, he will manifest‍ the truth‍ of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." As I sat in sacrament meeting I prayed a silent prayer and received an immediate, and undeniable answer. God is real. He answers sincere prayer. This is Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I am a counselour in the local leadership and been in many other positions within the church. The Lord makes me stretch. I have held callings that I have felt completely inadequate, but as I stretch and learn, I become more confident and able.
