Hi I'm Rob

I grew up in Northern California. For many years I worked as a CPA, now I work as a novelist. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy my family, particularly my grand children. On many nights, I take my telescope out on our back porch and view the universe my Father has created. I have a passion for writing stories for teenagers. I write stories of faith and hope, two things that I would want my youthful readers to have.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man of twenty years, I embarked on a search for truth. I knew there was a God and I wanted to find Him. My search led me to many places. As time passed, I started to become discouraged. I could not find what I was looking for. I left home and went north to my brother's apartment. One day as I sat alone in his living room, I discovered a book on the table before me. I picked it up and began to read it. Within a few pages, I knew that I had found something. Within a few more pages, I was laughing and crying for joy. It was the truth I had been looking for. It was the Book of Mormon. A few days passed and I continued to read the book. I also learned of Joseph Smith and read how he had prayed for wisdom. I decided to do the same thing. My brother loaned me his car and I drove out of the city looking for a place to pray. I stopped and pulled my car to the side of the road and climbed a short hill. There, in the driving rain, I knelt beside a log and asked my Father what I should do with my life. When i rose, I had a strong feeling that my prayer would be answered. I returned to my car and began to look for a gas station. As I drove, I passed a group of buildings. A strong impression told me to stop. I swerved into a gravel driveway on the left. My car died and I sat there for a moment, feeling a little foolish. When I lifted my eyes, I saw a sign in front of my car. It read, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. God had answered my prayers with a "sign'.

How I live my faith

My wife and I work in the temple weekly. On the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, I also work in the Spanish speaking sessions of the temple. I come home feeling like I could fly, filled with the spirit and beauty of that place. In my ward, I help coordinate Mormon Helping Hands. We do projects for our community.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I know from personal experience that He is there. Persist in faith, never giving up hope, and you will find Him. He has always been there for me. Show more Show less
