Hi I'm Matt

Im a missionary, an asphalt worker, motorcycle junkie and im a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and spent the first 18 years of my life playing hard. My dad was a bit of an adventurist himself so the combination made for a most excellent childhood. Whether it was sailing out of long beach, riding dirt bikes in the desert, or just a casual longboard ride to snag some free french bread at the end of the day, it didnt matter to me. I was ignorant, but life was good. Being around people just makes me happy. And I have always been a huge music fan. True blue So Cal punk rock is my genre of choice, but anything with a good bass line or fun guitar riffs will do. I grew up the oldest of 6 kids, 5 of them boys... so we had a pretty loud house most of the time. I love my brothers like none other. And my little (if you can call 18 little) sister just married an awesome guy. I love seeing the way our family is growing and changing. And I hope I dont ruin the family name by any of the dumb stunts i pulled...

Why I am a Mormon

Im a mormon because I am confident that God wants this for me. After 18 years of going through the motions I asked my Heavenly Father in prayer if the LDS faith really was his church, and his answer was unmistakable. Being a mormon isnt easy, but anything easy usually isnt that worthwhile in the long run. I am constantly being stretched by all the good advice we are given by our church leaders, and its a lot like working out. Because even though its hard, and we're tired, and all of of our friends are sleeping while we're out sweating, when its all said and done we're always glad we did it. I love this gospel and am so blessed to be a part of it. If you havent looked into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for yourself, its the best decision you could make

How I live my faith

After high school ended and the real world began I was faced with overwhelming decisions. I spent some time working at our family asphalt business, studied business in college, chased a couple of girls and realized that all of a sudden the time for missionary service had come. After prayerfully considering what God wanted for me, I submitted my application. And today im serving as a full time missionary in Tulsa Oklahoma. The work i do is hard and the days can seem long, but the reward is SO worth it. There is no way to learn better than to teach, and having my faith tested has made it stronger. Before my mission i was the only mormon a lot of my friends knew, so i tried to be "an example of the believers". And even though I often felt out numbered by people who disregarded my faith, i was able to touch a few of my friends by the way i stood out.
